Attendance and Points
- Eight (8) points are awarded to the team that shows up to play, but only if at least one team member is present at the start of the match.
- Matches against teams that do not show up ("no-show" teams) are not eligible to win any prize money, as there is no one to attest to the scores.
- If a particular match is unable to finish, points will be awarded for any 3-hole set that has been decided. Undecided 3-hole sets will be split evenly between the two teams, including low net.
Pace of Play
- The allotted time to play 9 holes is 2 hours and 15 minutes.
- Keep up with the foursome in front of you. If your group falls behind, you will receive one warning to catch up. If you are reminded a second time, you will be asked to skip to the next hole, forfeiting any chance to win prize money.
- Report slow play to the Pro Shop.
Handicaps
- All handicaps follow the USGA's handicap system.
- Returning members will use their 9-hole handicap from the end of the previous season, with a maximum handicap of "9" for any player.
- Handicaps will be adjusted weekly.
- Substitutes without a verified USGA or MSGA handicap will start with a three (3) for their first round, unless they have played as a substitute in the past or are a former league member. After the first round, they will be placed on the "sub list" and will get a 9-hole handicap for future substitutions.
Out-of-Bounds Shots
- Do not return to the tee box or your last shot location for an out-of-bounds shot.
- Treat all out-of-bounds shots as lateral hazards and take a drop in-bounds with a penalty stroke, no nearer to the hole from the point of entry. This includes out-of-bounds and lost balls.
- For Hole #6, if your tee shot does not clear the hazard, drop on the other side in the "Drop Zone" with a one-stroke penalty.
Prize Money
- Prize money of $60 is awarded each week for various categories.
- If you win prize money during the league, it will be loaded onto an individual "gift card" that can be used at your discretion, but only at Little Bennett, throughout the year.
