Win tournaments to gain EXP and unlock VS characters
To rank up in Everybody's Golf, players need to win tournaments to gain experience points (EXP). As players progress through the game, they will be able to unlock VS characters by earning enough EXP. These VS characters will then need to be challenged and defeated to proceed to the next rank.

Play in Serious mode to speed up single-player progress
To rank up in Everybody's Golf, you need to win tournaments to acquire EXP. Once you've earned enough EXP, you unlock a VS character, and when you beat the third VS character in a given rank, you rank up.
To speed up your single-player progress, you can play in Serious Mode. To activate Serious Mode, hit the F button on the Tournament Select screen.
