Unlocking new courses in Mario Golf is relatively simple. You don't have to do anything special outside of playing the game. There are two ways to unlock new courses. The first option is to play 18 holes at a course you've already unlocked, which will unlock the next course. If you're playing Mario Golf on the Nintendo Switch or N64, you'll be happy to know that there are a few cheats and secrets that can be accessed. There is a cheat that unlocks most of the possible player characters in the game, as well as most of the courses.

First, insert the Mario Golf cartridge into the Transfer Pak, then insert the Transfer Pak into your N64 controller. You can transfer a maximum of four players, which is enough for a customised foursome.
Once you've loaded in your characters, they'll appear at the bottom of the character list in the four empty slots. Any abilities you've given these characters in the Game Boy Color game will also be transferred over to the N64 version.
It's important to note that this feature is only available for the original N64 release of the game. You won't be able to play these characters on the Wii, Wii U, or Switch.
