The Special Olympics World Games Santiago 2027, officially the XVII Special Olympic World Games, will be held from 19 to 31 October. The International Board of Directors of Special Olympics voted to advance Santiago's preliminary bid based on its inclusion legacy goals, host city characteristics, financial endorsements, competition venues, sport concepts, and a feasibility study.
The 2027 World Games in Santiago will be the 17th summer Special Olympics. It will be the sixth Special Olympics World Summer Games to be held outside the United States.
