The Grint is a fast-growing golf app that allows you to get a valid handicap, track your score, and access Pro-like stats. It is designed to be used by golfers at every skill level.
The Grint calculates handicaps using the lowest 8 Handicap Differentials out of your last 20 scores. This is done by subtracting the course rating from your score and then multiplying by 113 over the slope rating. For example, if you shot a 80 on a course with a rating of 73 and a slope rating of 133, the diff would be (80-73) * (113/133) = 5.9.
The more scores you have uploaded to your account, the more accurate your handicap will be. With the new World Handicap System (WHS), you only need a minimum of 3 scores of 18 holes (which can be a mix of 9-hole and 18-hole scores).
